Our On-Line Proof Sheet Service Overview - FAQ
Our easy to use on-line proof sheet creator is specifically designed to meet the needs of the professional photographer by handling the day-to-day tasks most photographers
are required to perform when creating proof sheets for client approval. Here are the most commonly asked questions asked by potential customers:
- Can anyone use this system?
- Any Professional Photographer with a modern day browser and a broadband connection can use our system
- Why do I need a broadband connection?
- Our system allows you to upload as many images as are required for a proof sheet, all within one archive file. Because these files may be large and network time outs may occur we do not recommend attempting an upload on a dial up or slow DSL line.
- Will your system accept other compression formats besides Zip?
- Yes, our system can accept zip, gzip and rar files from either a Windows, MAC or Linux system. Sorry we cannot accept SIT files at this time but the latest version of StuffIt can create zip archives.
- Are their maximum file sizes for uploading?
- Yes, our system will not accept any archive larger than 500 mb. However you may add more archives, or individual images to a proof sheet at any time.
- Is the system secure?
- Our system is 100% secure! The ability to view a proof sheet, or individual images from a proof sheet is locked down so that only those with a valid username and password may access them. You and your client's privacy is our #1 concern!
- Is there a demo I can try?
- Yes, we have a demo system available for anyone interested in trying our system. Please click on the 'demo' link in the top menu bar and enter your email address. Your demo account is 100% functional for 24 hours.
- What file types does your system accept?
- Our system is set up for JPEG images however it will convert GIF, TIFF and PNG images to JPEGs automatically for you. We do not recommend uploading TIFF images however as this may drastically affect your upload times due to their size.
- Do I need to optimize my JPEGs before uploading?
- No you do not, however exporting images straight out of the camera is not recommended. As a member you will have access to "batch optimizing" actions we have created for Photoshop. Simply download the action, install it into Photoshop and it does the work for you! (Coming in April 2008)
- Can I upload portrait and landscape images in one batch?
- You may, if you have forgotten to rotate any image our application will allow you to rotate it online, saving you the aggravation of deleting it and then reuploading it again.
- Are there any contracts or minimums?
- Our system is based on a monthly subscription. If you wish to cancel at any time just send an email to subscriptions@eproofsheet.com telling us you wish to cancel. All re-billing will be stopped immediately. If you have time left on your current subscription you will be allowed to use it.
- How do I enter client contact information?
- Setting up a new client is simple, you enter a client name, a primary contact along with their email and as many other different contacts as you need for that client. Once you have the contact information set up you may begin creating proof sheets
- Do I need to recreate a client every time I do a new proof sheet?
- Absolutely not. Your client list is not tied to any one proof sheet. You may add, delete, change proof sheets for a client as often as you wish. You may also add and remove contacts for a client at any time and set up proof sheet access for each contact within a company.
- How do I contact a client?
- Once you have set up a client and a proof sheet you may set up 'Proof Sheet Access' for the proof sheet. This allows you to send the contact email to only the people you wish to have access to that proof sheet. Once done you simply use our notification form and an email containing each contact's username and password is automatically sent out.
- Who creates the contact's usernames and passwords?
- Each time you create a new contact for a client our system will auto generate a unique username and password for that contact. This ensures no one will ever receive log in information for the wrong proof sheet
- What does the client see when they log in?
-
- The client side of the application allows them to view the entire proof sheet or individual images within the proof sheet. When viewing the individual images they also have a form that allows them to approve / disapprove each image. They may also leave a short (150 characters) comment on each image. When they are done reviewing their proof sheet they have the opportunity to do a final review before sending the "finalized contact form" to you. Once finalized (by sending the email) they are no longer allowed to edit their comments even though they may still review their proof sheet until you have deleted it.
- Why cant a client change their comments after finalizing a proof sheet
- In an effort to limit the amount of comments you need to review we allow the client as much time as they need to review their proofs. Once they have finalized their comments we shut down their ability to change those comments. This prevents the possibility of you reviewing one set of comments only to find out the contact has changed them.
